Andree "Froment" Toews

Andree Toews September 19, 1926 – September 8, 2025 Andree Toews, 98, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Cascades of Stayton Assisted Living in Stayton, Oregon. Andree was born on September 19, 1926 in Paris, France. She met Roy Toews, during World War II. The couple married one year later on December 28, 1946 in Merced, California. Her parents relocated from Paris, France, one year later to join them, and Andree and Roy cared for them for the remainder of their lives. The couple farmed in Merced until moving to Scio, Oregon in 1958. Andree had worked briefly as a teacher's aide and later as a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Evergreen Congregation in Scio. She is survived by her children, Patrick Toews of Beaverton, Oregon, Paulette Jantz of Livingston, California, Micheline Koehn of Ulysses, Kansas and Francis Toews of Scio, OR; 16 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Toews and her parents Francois and Juliette Froment. Viewing will be held from 5 – 7:00 pm, Friday, September 12, 2025 at Huston-Jost Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church, Evergreen Congregation in Scio. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery.
