Lois Johnson Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you, Lois "Loie" Rae Johnson, passed away peacefully in Eugene, Oregon, on Wednesday, March 26, at 3:35 PM. She was a strong, can-do-it woman; an auntie, sister, daughter, niece, cousin, mother, grandmother (Gma), Madison's GREAT-grandmother, and friend to many. Notorious for her career as a court reporter, she was awarded top 8 in the world for accuracy and speed. She beta tested, pioneered and advanced the technology for Xcsribe, automating dictation technology for court reporters. When she retired she reinvented herself, running a small scrapbooking business and retreat for ladies, out of her beach houses in San Simeon with the assistance of Sharon, her niece. Other talents included hostessing annual holiday parties and decorating her home every month, using related holidays and colors as her muse. She was an avid reader, painter, writer, editor and movie buff. She enjoyed walking the beaches of San Simeon, gardening, shell collecting and rock polishing. Her passion was visiting, protecting and conserving lighthouses around the world as well as collecting anything and everything lighthouse related. She is survived by her children Dennis and Kimberly.
