Richard Allen "Rick" Byrd

Richard Allen Byrd, 61, of Sweet Home, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025. He was born April 4, 1964 to Dennis Byrd and Gwen Grissom in Riverside, California. He was raised in Orting, Washington. In 1983 he joined the US Army and was discharged in 1986. Before coming to Oregon he was living in Pismo Beach, California. Rick was an amazing husband to his wife Pam Thorp-Byrd for over 30 years, an amazing father to Savannah, Danni, and son-in-law Jordan along with four other children. Loving grandfather to Lelu, Serenity, James and Xavier. Working as a chef most of his life, he still found time for his family and hobbies. You could always find him playing guitar, drums, singing and even song writing, along with spoiling his wife with amazing cooking skills. He lives on in our memories, never to be forgotten.
