Ronald Bonde Vonsild June 10, 1941 – October 12, 2025 Ronald (Ron) Bonde Vonsild Sr, age 84, passed away on Sunday Oct 12, 2025. Surrounded by his kids, son-in-law and brother, at the Oregon Veterans Home in Lebanon. Ronald was born on June 10, 1941 in Eugene, Oregon to the late Bonde Paul (Slim) & Janet (Greenwald) Vonsild. He was raised in Philomath and lived in Lebanon and Albany. Ron was the oldest of 6 siblings, Judy Garriott (proceeded in death), Jeanette Newman, Donna Rees, Karen Becker, and David Vonsild. Ron proudly served in the army from 1963-1965. He was stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. He married Dawn Maxey in Oct 1964 and had 3 children, Ronald Vonsild Jr of Vacaville, CA. Rhonda Baumgartner (Dennis) of Davenport, FL. Mark Vonsild of Scio, OR. He has 2 grandkids, Tim (Theresa) & Brandi Baumgartner and 3 great grandkids, Brennah, Brayden & Rowan. He married Janet Luton in Dec. 1988 and grew his family by 3 step son's, Richard (Sara) Androes, Mike (Valerie) Schultz, Jim (Dawn) Schultz, 8 grandkids and 5 great grandkids. Ron worked at Wah Chang and was a member of Local 6163 United Steelworkers Union in Albany for 33 years retiring in 1997. He moved to the Oregon coast in 1999. He was also known as "The Mayor" of Crabapple Dr., because he was always willing to help anyone. Ron was an active member of the Lutheran Church his entire life. He also enjoyed going to car shows, square dancing, camping, fishing, crabbing, clamming and spending time with his family. Per Ron's request there will be no funeral. There will be a Private graveside service at Lebanon IOOF Cemetery.
