Ruby Frakes Obituary

Ruby Louise (Morey) Frakes of Corvallis, Oregon died at her home on July 21, 2025 at the age of 92. She was born to Guy and Edith (Woods) Morey in Weld County, Platteville, Colorado. She graduated from College High School in Greeley, Colorado, and attended Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley prior to her marriage to Rodney V. Frakes in November of 1952. She is survived by her two children: Laura Ann Dooley of Dallas, Texas and Cody Joe Frakes of Corvallis, Oregon, and her sister: Loretta Ford, of Kersey, Colorado. She is also survived by her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers: Chester, Cecil and Carol, preceded her in death. She enjoyed being involved with her children in Camp Fire, Cub Scouts, and their various activities. She shared her husband's interests in OSU, history, antique cars and community volunteer work with Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Benton County Hospice and various visitation programs. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, OSU Folk Club, and the OSU Thrift Shop. She cared for all animals and had a special love for her pets. A private graveside service will be held at a later date and Ruby will be laid to rest with her husband at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Corvallis.
