Charles Stoelk Obituary
Charles August Stoelk, 92, of Hayfield, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born on April 30, 1933, in Audubon County, IA, the son of Charles and Augusta (Paape) Stoelk.
The Stoelk family moved from their farm in Iowa to a farm near his grandparents in the Waltham, Minnesota area when he was 6 years old. He attended school at District 110, rural Waltham. Charles served in the United States Marine Corp from January 19, 1954, to January 18, 1957.
On June 21, 1959, Charles married Judy Dahle at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hayfield. They were blessed with 4 children. They resided in Blooming Prairie until they moved to Hayfield in the summer of 1970. He farmed and worked at Hormel and retired after 30 years. He continued keeping busy by working for NAPA for several years.
Charles was a devoted family man, always putting his family first. He enjoyed family get togethers, tending to his garden and yard, canning, hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends. He was a very proud member of Hayfield American Legion Rothie Post #330, serving as commander from 1997-1998.
Charles is survived by son, David Stoelk; daughters, Carrie (Mark) Wiltgen, Patty Perrigo, and Tera (Steve) Jorgenson, all of Hayfield, MN; grandchildren, Derrick (Lindsay) Jacobson, Lindsay (Pierre) Maves, Hannah (Cody) Fenske, Bradey (Teresa) Perrigo, Jacob (Ariana) Perrigo, Daniel (Rayna) Glawe, Brandon, Carter, and Miranda Jorgenson; 18 great grandchildren; sisters-in-laws, Donna Stoelk, Kathryn (Vernon) DeRaad and Chris Dahle; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by wife, Judy on May 17, 2024; his parents; brothers, Orville and Lyle Stoelk; sisters, Esther Borkowski, Inez Mahnke, and Dorothy Hillson; and son-in-law, Mike Perrigo.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st St SE, in Hayfield, MN, with Reverend Kristen Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his service on Monday. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, MN with military honors provided by the Hayfield American Legion Post 330.
