Rosvell Arness Obituary

Rosvell "Roz" Arness, 84, of King City, passed away on May 13, 2023, at Mee Memorial Hospital in King City. She was born on June 2, 1938 in Crookston, Minn.
Roz and her husband, Paul, had been married for 64 years and lived in Monterey County for 60 years. She owned a daycare for 33 years, working as a preschool teacher. Roz was very involved at St. John's Catholic Church serving as a Eucharistic minister to the elderly as well as a member of St. John's Woman's Guild. She was also involved in various clubs in the community, including the Silver Kings and Queens and the VFW Post 6747 Ladies Auxiliary.
Roz was an avid traveler and ventured to many parts of the world from Russia to Norway; she saw the rainforest in the Amazon; and climbed Machu Picchu in Peru. Her zest for life was felt by all that knew her.
Rosvell Arness was the mother of three children, Linda Diaz, Vince Arness and Toni Kapper. She mothered a bountiful family with 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren living throughout the US. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her daughter, Linda; and her grandson, Vincent Jr.
Her long and fruitful life ended peacefully and in a letter left to her children, she wrote her motto: "Live each day with a purpose."
A Rosary Service will be held, 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 2, 2023, at St. John's Catholic Church.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will follow starting at 11:00 a.m.

So sorry to hear of her passing. She was my back yard neighbor for over30 years and I enjoyed the occasional conversations we had. She was always interesting to talk to.
When I rebuilt the back yard fence she wanted the old boards retained as she liked the look.

Roz supervised both my children. Never had to worry when she was in charge. Wonderful lady. Your last travel will be the best.
