Mark Staten Obituary

Mark David Staten, Sr., 73, of Georgetown, SC, passed away on January 16, 2025, at his residence. Born January 20, 1951, in Greenville, MS, he was the son of James Harold Staten and Pearl Thomas Staten Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Staten. Mark was a long-time insurance salesman. He was proud of his career and the many esteemed distinguishments he was awarded throughout his years of service. His hobbies included camping and golfing but the one he loved the most was spending time on his pontoon boat. Mark is survived by his wife, Sandy Staten; two children, Mark "Bubba" Staten, Jr. and Paige Nutter (David); three grandchildren, Catherine, Cody, and Cullen Nutter; one stepdaughter, Tiffany Coleman (Travis); and two step grandchildren, Joshua and Anna Coleman. A memorial service will be held at the Downtown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive visitors immediately following the service at their home located at 877 Francis Marion Drive, Georgetown, SC 29440.
