Edward Blalock Obituary

PINK HILL - Edward Killette "Butch" Blalock Jr., 59, of Pink Hill, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Born in Lenoir County, he was the son of the late Edward Killette Blalock Sr. and Jewell Kornegay Blalock. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Grace Herrington and Patsy Blalock Ward; and nephew, Stuart Ward. Ed was Finance Manager with Roy Jones Pontiac. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Frances Williams Blalock of the home; sons Edward Killette Blalock III and Robert Lee Blalock, both of Kinston; grandchildren, Gavin Blalock, Cody Blalock, Madison Blalock, and Landon Blalock; brother-in-law Dr. Joe Ward; aunt Mable Mock; niece Nonie Ward; great-nieces Shelby Brazington, Victoria Brazington, and Mary-Stuart Ward; nephews Frage Brazington and Joey Ward; and great-nephew, Lee Brazington. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2012, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home and other times at the home. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Westview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3015 South Memorial Drive, Suite A Greenville, NC 27834. The family wishes to express a very special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Rupert Jilcott, Brenda Mercer, Susan and Dr. Robert Gallaher for the excellent care they provided. Sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Mr. Blalock from my days at the Kinston Free Press and he was working at Roy Jones Pontiac. I know he will be missed by many. A very special person indeed.
