Dave was the guy that so patiently took many of us under his wings when we began climbing. Whether he was acting as host to the shipyard workers coming over to Japan, helping Teresa with the dog sledding, working his farm or trying to retire all the while helping his brother Rick. Always with a smile, always with a laugh even at himself. Gonna miss you guy

So so sorry for your loss. Dave was a great guy and a wonderful grandfather to Destany. He will be missed so very much.

My family has lived next door to David and Teresa for many years! He has always been a kind and considerate neighbor and I will truly miss our chats over the fence! This world has lost an incredible human being who touched so many lives in a positive! His ripple effect will never end!

I worked with Dave in training. Dave was one of the most hardworking guys I've had the pleasure of working with. Dave had great life stories he shared with me. He inspired me and made me laugh. I will miss Dave.

I had the pleasure of working and being around Dave for many years. I got to listen to his climbing stories and we became a good friends. He was easy to work with and very good at his job. My prayers go out to his family during this trying time, many people will miss him. Rest in peace my friend, Larry Roberts

I met Dave early in my career at the Shipyard. He was someone I could always trust and depend on to help. He was always kind and willing to explain how work really gets done. I loved hearing his stories, jokes, or discussions. Every time we talked at some point during the conversations he would always laugh. He had a great sense of humor.
He and Kevin were quite the pair in Shop 99. I will always remember his story about climbing Mt. Rainer with Kevin when they cooked steaks and had beer at the top. I think he ruffled a few feathers that day with the other "climbers", who were possibly struggling a bit to get to the top. For Dave and Kevin it was just a walk in the park, although I knew they took it serious, but it didn't mean they couldn't have fun. RIP Dave! You will be missed!
