Elaine Loan Obituary

Elaine M. Loan

Port Orchard, WA

Feb. 5, 1941 to July 3, 2018

Elaine M. Loan, age 77, long time resident of Port Orchard, WA passed away suddenly on July 3, 2018 and is now at home with Our Lord. Elaine was born February 5, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN, the oldest of 5 children to Lloyd and Gladys Roseland.

Elaine is survived by her 4 children – Frank Price of Mountlake Terrace, Connie Tolan of East Wenatchee, Scott and wife Christy Campbell of Longmont, CO and Christian Campbell of Port Orchard, 3 grandchildren – Christa and Nicole Tolan of East Wenatchee and Jason Price of Friday Harbor, WA, 3 great-granddaughters – Kaylee and Jocelynn McKinney and Serinity Arthur as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. She is also survived by 2 of her 4 siblings – Gale Louch of Bremerton and Randi Gusa of Renton.

Elaine graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1959. She was Homecoming Queen and voted "prettiest" by her class. She continued to be involved with her classmates by working on the reunion committee and maintaining her most cherished friendships.

Elaine was retired after a long career as an LPO in the mortgage industry. She enjoyed listening to jazz music, playing cards with friends, vacations in Mexico, crafting and spending time with family. She loved Jesus and read her bible daily. She never had an unkind word and was always full of warm hugs. She lived simply and loved well. She was the relative who remembered everyone's birthday. She sent hand-written Thank You notes for every kindness received. She always cooked for an army, and everyone was always welcome. She never allowed a friend or a friend of a friend to be alone on a holiday; her motto was always "the more, the merrier!" Elaine had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.

There will be a Celebration of Life on August 3rd at First Lutheran church at 2483 Mitchell Rd in Port Orchard at 1pm. Following the memorial at First Lutheran, there will be a brief inurnment at Sunset Lane Memorial, 1151 Mitchell Ave, Port Orchard, WA 98366.

And finally, her family hopes that all will join them at the Fraternal Order of Eagles (4001 Jackson Ave SE, Port Orchard, WA 98366) for a true celebration of Elaine.

Gone But Not Forgotten

A precious one from us has gone,

A voice we loved has stilled;

A place is vacant in our home,

Which never can be filled.

God in His wisdom has recalled,

The boon his love has given,

And though the body slumbers here,

Her soul is safe in Heaven.

Elain was such a special person. If there was anyone who could make lemonaid out of lemons it was Elaine. Life wasn't easy for her at times but by her own strenghts, determination and faith in God she got through all of it with a smile on her face and determination.
We became friends when she met Jack. Our social times were full of laughter and our difficult times were shared emotions and faith in knowing that; 'this too shall pass'.
I don't know of a stronger woman than Elaine. I have always admired her strengths in her love for her family, life and God.
She was such a good daughter. I remember how she loved playing cards with her Mom. That's special.
You will be missed dear friend. I know you are in heaven watching over us all.
May your children and family look back on the special conversations you shared, the love you gave and the lessons you tought us by just being you.
Memories are the legacy of love.
With deepest love, Judy

I will miss Elaine's kindness, her continued spirit with the Lord, her laughter, her generousity, her ability to accept people for who they are and finding good in all of us no matter what the situation. Her friendship and caring has gone above and beyond..leaving us all with a sad heart, but knowing she is happy with the lord. I will always consider myself as many others do to have had Elaine as a friend for many many years..extremely lucky...I will miss you my friend! Jackie Barlett Hatfield
