AGNES DAVIS DENTON

DENTON, AGNES DAVIS - age 87, of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at her home. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Agnes was retired from ORNL and Y-12 in Oak Ridge. She was formerly active with the Suburbia Women's Club and an avid bridge player. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jack Denton; son, Mike Denton; parents, Harley and Alberta Davis; infant brother, Curtis Wilson Davis and brother-in-law, Harry Plemons. Survived by her son, Tim Denton of Lenoir City; grandchildren and spouses, Amanda and David Wagner of Winder, GA, Ben and Hayley Denton of Knoxville, Sarah and Patrick Phelps of Los Angeles, CA, Amy Denton and fiancé, Jeff Martin of Knoxville, Matt and Tiffany Denton of LaVergne, TN, Adam and Ashley Denton of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Jackson Denton, Logan Denton, Mikey Denton, John Denton, Mackenzie Wagner, Will Wagner and Zac Wagner; sisters, Phyllis Groover and husband, Charles of Clinton, Betty Plemons, Janice Rogers and husband, Bud all of Lenoir City; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City with funeral services to follow at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 Monday morning, and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for 11:00 a.m. graveside services.
