Glenn, while looking up an obituary today, on Monday, May 8th 2017, I ran across Alice's obituary. I am sad to learn of her passing. I remember what a sweet and lovely person she was. It is a great sorrow to lose those we love so dearly but a joy without measure in knowing we will see them again one wonderful day. I am so thankful for being cared for by your aunt Esta, uncle William and your grandmother, Mary Jane Day, who I always called Mama. I was blessed to be with good christian people who took me to church so that I would learn the teachings of Christ and know his wonderful love.

Glenn, I just read about Alice's death, and it hurt my heart as I'm sure it has hurt yours and your entire family's. Alice and I were literally childhood friends - I can't remember a time when I did not know her. We attended elementary and high school together, and she was a wonderful, happy spirit - and so very, very sweet. I hadn't seen her in years, but I wanted to say goodbye to her through this little note. Carolyn DeShong Houston
