Barbara Jean Manes Burkhart, 83, passed away on Thursday, (5/14/15) at Signature Health Care in Rogersville.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Flo Manes and sister, Sarah Haskins. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, John L. Burkhart of Bulls Gap, sons, Steve (Diane) Burkhart of Rogersville, Mark (Valerie) Burkhart of Bulls Gap; brothers, Bill (Rose) Manes of Rogersville, Charles (Marilyn) Manes of Newport; grandchildren, Jama (Antonio) Bos, Tia (Nathan) Townsend, Katie (Eric) Wilder; great grandchildren, Aislinn Bos, Ellie Bos, Colton Townsend, Bryson Townsend, Kendal Wilder, Abel Gideon Wilder; nephews, Chester Haskins, Bill Haskins, Joey Manes, Jeff Manes and Eric (Digger) Manes. Barbara was a lifelong member of Bulls Gap United Methodist Church and a lifetime resident of Bulls Gap. She will be sadly missed by those blessed to have known such a wonderful woman.

Visitation will be held at Bulls Gap United Methodist Church on Sunday, (5/17/15) from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Elder John Arnott and James (Jimmy) Robinson will be officiating. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday (5/18/15) at Willoughby Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery. The family wishes to thank the employees of Signature Health Care in Rogersville for all of the loving care that was given Barbara over the past 4 years.
