Cade Stowers Obituary

STOWERS, CADE MATTHEW - infant son of Clint and Melissa Stowers, passed away on October 22, 2008 at UT Medical Center. He is survived by his parents, Clint and Melissa Stowers; maternal grandparents, George and Sharon Walker, paternal grandparents, Wilma Stowers and Lee Parris and Donald Stowers; uncle, Brent Stowers, aunt, Laura Stowers, cousins, Dilyn and Tyler Stowers; a host of family and friends. A very special thank you goes out to the NICU and third floor staff at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. For you, Cade, we always wanted the sight of the sea. Because that could not be possible here, you pulled your eye patch down, and you sailed away. Donations may be made in Cade's memory at City Employee's Credit Union. These donations will be given to the UT NICU in order to help continue the wonderful things they do there.

There’s no way to console you,
Or take your pain away.
We only trust our prayers will hold you,
And encourage survival for another day.

You’re devoted family is there for you.
And this we’re sure you know.
Our hearts will always grieve for you.
We trust our actions will show.

Clint, be there for Melissa.
And Melissa, do the same.
Always keep Cade in your heart.
For ever hold on to his name.

This poem is for your family
Clinton, Melissa, and Cade.
The imprint you three have made on the world
Is undying and will never fade.

To the Family,

Words can't express the sadness that I feel for your loss. I pray you find comfort in knowing that others care and share your grief. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God's peace be with you forever!

My dear Clint and Melissa,
I feel so sad when someone I love, like you, has to face such a difficult time and there's no way I can fix it. You don't deserve this pain. You simply have to live through it. As time goes by, you will rise above this. I know, because I know you. What has happened can't change the qualities within you - your honesty, your courage, your caring ways and the worthy people you are. What happened isn't fair. But, I believe someday you'll discover there's a meaning in it - a meaning that will have purpose in your lives that you can't even imagine right now. Until then - hold on to these thoughts and know that, Sharon, Boo, Lee and I will be right by your side. God never makes mistakes. He will guide us through this with His love and understanding. You gave me a beautiful grandson whom I will never forget and I thank you both for that joy. Cade will live in my heart forever. You know that as a mom and as a mimi, nothing is more precious to me than my sons and my grandsons. When you hurt, I hurt. When I look at the two of you and see your pain, it destroys me, but when I look closer and see the incredible man and woman that I am so blessed to call my son and daughter with your strength, faith, courage, love and dedication you have for each other and God, I realize that we will survive this. I love you both. Clint's mom and Cade's mimi

Melissa and Clint,
Your mom Wilma is a special lady in my life-she has been so good to me over the years. I am so very saddened to hear about Cade. He is for sure sailing on the beautiful waves with the sea wind in his hair! Your family is in our prayers. Shannon, Chris and Rhyane Swayney

We love you all more than words can say. You know if there is anything we can do for you all during this time of need, we are just a phone call away. We are praying for you all each and everyday. Love you.

I am Melissa's Mom and Cade's Nana. First of all I want to say what a blessing it was just to see my beautiful grandson's face for even one day and to touch his perfect little hand. Even though he had to leave here, every moment from the time his parents told us of his impending birth and up to the time of his passing, have been nothing but pure joy for me except for the agony of knowing we could not keep him. I will never understand why my precious daughter and son-in-flaw have to suffer this pain, but I know our perfect baby is in a magical place now, complete with his own little mansion. I also know someday he will run to meet his Nana and say, "Hey, Nana, I've been waiting for you!" I can't regret the beauty that was Cade and will not sully his memory with bitterness. Thank you to all of the third floor staff and the entire NICU unit at UT Medical Center. Your love and caring helped us make that difficult journey and not feel so alone. A very special thanks to the doctors who valiantly fought for Cade. All of you make the world a much better place. And finally, a heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful family and friends on both sides. Your prayers and love are so needed today and for a long time to come. And finally, for my Clint and Melissa, you are my heart and my joy. I would gladly have taken Cade's place to have given you the gift of him. Since that wasn't to be I promise to share with you the joy of your lives wherever God leads you. Your Dad and I consider ourselves blessed beyond compare to know the love of two such phenomenal people. We hold you in our hearts and will buoy you up with our love and prayers. Sharon Walker
