Clara Tackett Obituary

TACKETT, MRS. CLARA LYNN BROWN - age 58 of Harriman, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. Clara was raised in Fountain City and graduated from Central High School in Knoxville. She retired from ORNL. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Opal Daniels Brown. She is survived by: her husband, Walter Tackett; her farther, Tyndale H. Brown; one sister, Julia B. Dalton; her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Tackett; nephew, Michael Dalton, his wife April and their children, Sed, Christopher and Justin; niece, Cathy Moeller, her husband Mike and their children, Casey, Morgan, Kendal and Luke; niece, Angela Doddard and her husband Chris. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 25, 2006 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 pm Sunday at Highland South Memorial Park in Knoxville for graveside services with Nathan Williams of the 1st Christian Church of Harriman officiating. Arrangements by Davis Funeral Home, Harriman.

We had no contact after Shannondale till the Central reunion. She was as sweet at the reunion as she was in grade school and her pleasant nature will not be forgotten.

Clara and I went through Grammar School and High School together. She was always such a dear friend with her sweet smile. It was so good to talk to her again at the Reunion this summer. My Prayers are with the family as I know she will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Clara. I have been out of town or I certainly would have come to the service. I enjoyed talking with her at the reunion in July. We were not only classmates, but attended Fountain City Methodist together for many years. I was formally Carolyn Collins. I will keep all the family in my payers.

Clara was and always will be an inspiration to all who knew her. Her positive additude, loving ways and never giving up no matter what. All who knew her were blessed and Jerome and I will were very blessed with her accepting, loving and understanding ways. She will be missed but is now with her heavenly father.
