So, here I am, finally. Do you remember the time you looked at my shoes in class and said you had never seen me wear the same pair of shoes twice in the three years of ASL classes we took? Before our CPK dinners, you could find me in the shoe department in Nordstrom's... and then I got YOU to the makeup counter. Did you ever get that eye brow pencil you wanted??? I know! Dana and makeup! Do you remember that lady that helped us that night? You didn't end up buying from her because she was sort of pushy. I so admire you. Still. I miss your snort. I miss your emails. I will certainly miss your visits. I take comfort in your friends and family that have been so generous with their thoughts of you. Missing you deeply in Redondo Beach, my friend.

Besides being a beautiful redhead, she was a beautiful person. Dana was the trainer for our wrestling program at Montana State in the 80's. Her title didn't quite cover what she did for 18-22 year old guys who needed guidance, an ear or a reminder of why we were at college. I will always remember her word of the day calendar. She mentioned that this was her reminder to never stop learning. Rest in Peace my friend you have done yourself and family proud!

Dana was my swimming hero. And my fellow helper with the little angels learning Silent Night through signing. She helped me learn and accomplish lap swimming. She was a warm and helpful "buddie". I was away when this happened and was shocked to learn of it when I returned. You will be missed at the "Y" and at church Miss Dana. God has blessed us all with your presence. Lovely woman.

Dana was my condo neighbor right beside of me. I am shocked that she has died. I am so sorry for her family. She was the most quiet neighbor anyone could ask for, I will definitely miss her! Still shocked!

I was an athletic training student at the University of Illinois in the 70's under Dana's tutelage. She was a great role model and mentor, especially for women in the field. My condolences and prayers to all her family and friends.

Dana was my "pew" buddy during early service at church, my house/cat sitter while out of town, and most importantly, my FRIEND. I still can't believe she is gone. My prayers go out to all her family.

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Dana everywhere.
The true legacy of Dana and her special character is what she leaves behind, in the hearts and character of those she touched [ so many many people in so many places!]. I feel certain- as I'm sure you do- that Dana's special character will be and IS being passed forward in the world through the influence she had on all of us, and the "heartprints" she left on our hearts.
May she be greeted in the "Big Quilt in the Sky" with the same grace, kindness, caring, and the little chuckle that she carried with her everywhere, and shared with all of us.

I first met Dana when she was at the Athletic Dept at MSU in Bozeman. From that point forward I became her financial advisor for the next 30 years. She moved several times and I "moved" with her--to Wash state and to several spots in southern California. Over the years, Dana became a good friend and one that I thoroughly enjoyed working with and spending time with. She was a Dear and will be missed by all that had the priviledge of knowing her. I know that I will miss her!

This just seems way wrong! I've known you for 22 years and have loved you that many years as well. I will miss you so much. I can't believe you are gone. But am so lucky to have had those 22 years. You'll always be in my heart, dearest Dana. Thank you for your wit, your understanding heart and most of all, your love. That will never go away.

I'd bet you'd be surprised to know the impact you've had on so many lives. We are terribly sadden that you were taken from us far too soon. Sometimes, life doesn't seem fair but, God has his ways. Reflecting back on your life's accomplishments Dana, I'd say you did good girl!! We will cherish the gifts you have given us. You have left an imprint of love in our hearts. (and know when some of us go to CPK (California Pizza Kitchen), we will be thinking of you & the Thai Chicken pizza you so enjoyed. We miss YOU.
Go in peace my friend..
Love,
Donna

I was glad I got a chance to know you, and was looking forward to our next Peace Corps gathering. You touched a lot of people, and your sudden departure has left us feeling empty. I'm sure you're already telling great stories to your new and old friends in heaven.
