Darren Murphy Obituary
Kodak, TN
Murphy, Darren Michael, age 41, of Kodak, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015. He was the Assistant Director of Nursing at NHC and was studying at LMU to be a Nurse Practitioner. Darren was a general aviation pilot and loved fishing, hunting, cooking, and motorcycling on US 129.
Preceded in death by uncles, David Murphy and Thomas Shepard, Jr.; and step-father, Gary L. Johnson. Survived by wife, Becky Murphy of Kodak, TN; daughter, Lauren Murphy of Wartburg, TN; parents, Donnie Murphy of Bainbridge, GA, and Beverly Johnson of Dandridge, TN; siblings, Mark Murphy of Charleston, SC and Anissa Cabrera of Bainbridge, GA; nieces and nephews, Ricky and Marissa Cabrera, and Caitlin and Derek Bryant.
Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM Friday, June 26, 2015, at East Tennessee Veteran Cemetery-John Sevier with military honors provided by East TN Veteran Honor Guard and the USAF Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Darren Murphy to The Wounded Warriors, 7020 AC Skinner Pkwy, Ste. 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999. www.bridgesfuneralhome.com
