Don Harrison Ritchey

Loudon, TN

Ritchey, Don Harrison - age 93 of Loudon passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at his home after a long illness. Don was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. Don previously was an owner/operator contracted with Watkins and Malone Freight and previously worked at Hall Oil Co., Inc. He retired from Purdy Bros Trucking Company. He enjoyed doing custom hay work with his deceased brother Raymond (Andy) Ritchey and also enjoyed 2 cylinder John Deere Tractors.

Mr. Ritchey is preceded in death by his parents, James Walter and Maybelle (Presley) Ritchey; wife of 61 years, Anna Ruth (Gentry) Ritchey; sisters, Margaret and Myrtle Ritchey; brothers, Ben, Tom and Raymond Ritchey. Survivors include daughter, Rita Ritchey, Loudon, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Paul Rainey, Mt. Juliet, sisters-in-law, Charlene Ritchey, Florence Ritchey and Carolyn Moore all of Loudon; several nieces and nephews, his buddies Storm and Little Bit; caregivers Deborah Ogle, Ann Bowl, and Ron Willis. Rita, his daughter wants to thank UT Hospice, Services including Renee and Kathleen, Tom Greene, Gene and Karen Miles and Linda Arp Hamilton along with Best Home Care.

Services to honor and remember Mr. Ritchey will be held 7 PM Saturday, August 25th in the McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Adam Cook officiating. Interment 2 PM Sunday in the Loudon County Memorial Gardens with military honors by the U.S. Army and the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to HonorAir Knoxville, 7536 Taggart Lane, Knoxville, TN 37938 or Smoky Mountain Service Dogs, 110 Tooweka Circle, Loudon, TN 37774 or to Indiana GSD and Huskey Rescue, 821 Quincy Road, Quincy, IN 47456. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Saturday prior to the service at the McGill Click Funerals & Cremations, 1366 Highway 72 N, Loudon. www.mcgillclick.com
