Doris Booher Obituary

BOOHER, DORIS ANN (PHILLIPS) - age 79 of Lenoir City peacefully passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010. Doris Ann was born February 27, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Marion Lowry and Anna Mae (Taylor) Phillips. She was a 1949 graduate of T. Carr Howe High School, Indianapolis, IN. She was married to MSGT Irvin Edward Booher USAF (ret.) with whom she spent nearly 48 years until his death. They enjoyed traveling and living abroad with military assignments in Okinawa, Germany and Japan. They were charter members of Ledbetter United Methodist Church, Ledbetter, KY. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a recipient of the Grand Cross of Color from the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She is survived by her sister Ruby Nell Daugherty, Earlington, KY and by her children, Dean and wife, Laura Booher, Climax, NC, Kent and wife, Faith Booher, Lenoir City and Lian Thomas, Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Christopher Booher, Kenneth Garner, Tara Booher, Danielle Chaffin, Lisa Booher, Kassandra Booher, Phillips Booher, Kathryn Booher, Jennifer Thomas-Larsen, Kyle Thomas and Keith Thomas; great-grandchildren, Justin Chaffin, Dylan Chaffin, Cody Booher and Gabriel Thomas. Memorial services 7:30 PM Saturday, Loudon United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Rudesill and Elizabeth Rudesill officiating. Burial with her late husband will follow at a later date in the Veteran's National Cemetery in Lebanon, KY. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 7:15 PM prior to the service at the Loudon United Methodist Church. McGill-Karnes Funeral Home, Loudon. www.mcgillkarnes.com
