E. Parsons Obituary
PARSONS, E. J. (BUD) - age 76, of Caryville, Tennessee passed away quietly at home on February 1, 2006. E.J. was a loving and patient husband, father, and grandfather. He was born in Grethel, Kentucky on January 22, 1930, the son of Isaac & Maggie (Hall) Parsons and was raised on the Parsons Branch. In 1947 he moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan and worked for 39 years with Ford Motor Company at the Ypsilanti plant. E.J. served two years in the U. S. Army and is a veteran of the Korean War. E. J. married his loved, Clydene Phillips, on June 21, 1952. Their strong marriage lasted for over 53 years and together they raised three loving daughters. Upon retirement, they relocated to East Tennessee where E. J. enjoyed many hours on Norris Lake. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a genuine love for nature. He hosted the annual Parsons Family Reunion in Floyd County, Kentucky for over 10 years. He was also a member of the Church of Christ since 1997. E. J. was preceded in death by his father and mother, 4 brothers & 3 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Clydene; 3 daughters, Sheree Ann (Bob) Sims of Melrose, Florida, Deanna Kay (Scott) Porter of Ypsilanti, Michigan & Brenda Sue (Kevin) Chaves-Torres of Knoxville, Tennessee; 3 grandchildren, Angela Dawn (Cris) Gonzales of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Jason Matthew Sims of Melrose, Florida and Deven Cesar Chaves-Torres of Knoxville, Tennessee; 2 great grandchildren, Antonio Demarco & Gabriel Giovanni Gonzales, both of Ypsilanti, Michigan; 1 brother, Ray Parsons of Ecorse, Michigan and 3 sisters, Quincy Manning of Lincoln Park, Michigan, Christine (Patsy) White and Phyllis Meade, both of Largo, Florida. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2006 from 5 to 7 PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 4th at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with the Minister Dale Turner officiating. Visitation on Saturday, February 4th starting at 6 PM at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home in Martin, Kentucky. Funeral services on Sunday, February 5th at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home with Minister Frank Junior Kidd officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Isaac Parsons Cemetery in Floyd County, Kentucky. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association of the charity of your choice. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City in charge of arrangements.
