Edna has touched so many lives. If it wasn't for her, Carlos and I wouldn't have gotten married. She let me stay with her when I came to visit Carlos from Texas. When we married a couple of months later, we stayed with her again. Carlos forgot to turn on the electricity at our house. We shared some good times at the cabin in Townsend.
She was a wonderful lady. May God be with you in this time of sorrow.
Love, Betty

Edna will be missed by all who knew and loved her so very much. Edna was a beautiful person on the inside as well as the outside. She always bought a smile to my face no matter how bad of a day I might be having. She always had such a positive attitude. She loved the Lord and wasn't afraid to let you know that. My thoughts and prayers are with Janet and the rest of the family.

A bright smile, a warm hug and a cheery voice that would light up any place - Edna Mason. Dearest family I believe you know how truly blessed you are to have had Edna for Mom, wife, nana, greatnana, mother in law and for many of us a precious friend. Many years ago, Edna took care of my mother at FSR-she entered the room with a cheery step and always left with "I love you and Jesus loves you even more."
Take comfort in the knowledge that Edna is in the presence of Jesus and is now one of the heavenly angels.

Truly born to be a nurse. Truly an example of God's hand extended to the hurting ones! Not only was I privileged to know her at New Covenant Fellowship, but had opportunity to see her in action when I worked as a nurse, also, at FSRMC in the 80's. She was always a breath of fresh air, showing love and encouragement to all those around her. Edna Mason was not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and proclaimed His love with boldness. What a beautiful legacy...

During the 35yrs I knew her I saw that love exemplified and I know from experience that she passed her passions on to you. You and your family are in my prayers and I know God can give you that peace that passes all understanding!

I have known Edna for the past 35 years while working at FSRMC and she was truely an ANGEL walking the halls of the hospital. Her sweet smile and comforting words to her Ft. Sanders family as well as each patient and family member was such a blessing. Edna was an excellent nurse, role model and a mentor to many. She always made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. Edna loved the LORD and served him on this earth and is now serving HIM in Heaven. She will be greatly missed!!

As a young person in Mt. Vernon, Ky in the late 1950s, George and Edna Prewitt were an important part of our lives. We never forgot the interest they took in leadership of our youth group and social activities.
Years later, as a student at UT, they opened their home to me. I was grateful for their hospitality and that of her parents. Children, you were very young then and probably do not remmeber preKnoxville days. I hope your happy memories of your mother will bring lots of comfort in the days and years ahead. May you have a special blessing!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Edna took care of my husband over 9 years ago at Fort Sanders. She was a very special caring lady and we looked forward to seeing her walk through the door. I am sure she touched many lives as she did ours. She was not ashamed to show she loved the Lord. We will never forget the impact she made on our lives.
