Edward Clayton Obituary
Knoxville, TN
Edward Steele Clayton III, age 80, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. He was born on August 10, 1937. Edward attended Woodberry Forest School and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He was a brother of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and served in the United States Marine Corp.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Edward S. Clayton, M.D. and Mabel Clayton; sister, Jane Clayton McCoin and daughter, Melissa Clayton Dorman. He is survived by his beloved wife, Alice Hale Clayton; son, Edward Steele Clayton IV and his wife Nicole Bandy Clayton; grandson, Cade Clayton; granddaughter, Emily Brooks Clayton; son-in-law, Marshall M. Dorman and his wife Shari Dorman; granddaughter, Maloy Dorman, grandson, Clayton Dorman, Sofi Dorman and Hali Ford.
At Edwards' request there will be no funeral services. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Edwards' memory to Young-Williams Animal Center, 3201 Division Street, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919 (http://www.young-williams.org).
