Aunt Eura Ogle Fox, age 91, passed away peacefully in her sunroom on March 22, 2017. She was Liddy Whaley's great-granddaughter, and possessed the same goodness, strength, Smoky Mt. tenacity, work ethic, and independence. She greatly loved her nieces and nephews. They all tell the sweet, funny, and poignant stories about their childhoods and how Aunt Eura loved them, showered them with treats, outings, and affection, and was tickled when folks would mistake them for her own children. She was a retiree of Standard Knitting Mills and an excellent seamstress. She loved making crafts and gardening. She was a Baptist and a woman with a deep faith.
Aunt Eura was preceded in death by husband, Ernest Fox, Jr.; parents, Arthur and Idana Ogle; brothers, Murel, Cleve, and Enzlie Ogle; and niece, Phyllis Ogle England. She is survived by niece, Peggy Ogle Shipe; nephews, Dennis, Charles, and Robert Ogle; and several great-nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Mildred Thompson, Marshia (Sam) Muldoon, and Sandy Smith for their loving, compassionate, and excellent care and the UT Hospice team who made her final days and transition so much easier.
Family and friends will meet at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 25th, at Chilhowee Cemetery in Seymour, TN for graveside service and interment, with Pastor Rick McIntee officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chilhowee Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 694, Seymour, TN 37865.
