Frankie Sharon Atkins

Knoxville, TN

Frankie M. Atkins, age 69, of Knoxville, TN, departed this life on Wednesday, February 22, 2017. She was a graduate of Austin High School, class of 1965. She was a member of Payne Avenue Baptist Church. Frankie retired from Lucent Technologies after 34 years.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Kenneth Atkins; parents, Frank O. (Rena B.) McKinney and Rudy (Nola) Atkins; siblings, Charles and Patricia McKinney. She is survived by her devoted and caring daughter, Denise Atkins; son-in-law, David Jenkins; devoted grandsons, Khiry and Jamar; great-granddaughter, Kyliyah; goddaughter, Renee Brooks; sister-in-law, Catherine Buley; brother-in-law, Ronald (Joyce) Martin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

Friday, March 3, 2017, the family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a homegoing to follow at Payne Avenue Baptist Church at 2714 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue Knoxville, TN 37914. Reverend Richard S. Brown, officiating. Interment to immediately follow at TN Veterans Cemetery at 5901 Lyons View Pike where a white dove release will conclude the service.
