Furman Harley "John" Haynes

HAYNES, FURMAN HARLEY "JOHN" - age 78 of Knoxville passed away at St. Mary's Medical Center Thursday May 1, 2008. He was a member of Church Street United Methodist Church. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and had served in World War II, the Korean War, the Berlin Air Lift and the Vietnam War. He served as a boom operator and instructor. Preceded in death by parents, Furman and Lillie Horne Haynes; sisters, Eileen, Barbara and Gertrude; brothers, Roy and Bill. He is survived by wife, Jean Mischlich Haynes; daughters, Linda Ivens and husband Tim, Brenda Peck and husband Kenneth; son, Steve Haynes and wife Frieda all of Maryville; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; stepsons, Benson Spurling and Wife Michelle of Cincinnati, Michael Spurling and Wife Joanne of Charlotte. Family and friends will meet at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery 11:15 A.M. Monday for services at 11:30 with Rev. Don Thomas officiating and Full Military Honors by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard.
