Glen Taylor Obituary

TAYLOR, GLEN WILL - age 84 of Clinton passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at his residence. He was born June 6, 1925 in Leinarts, Tennessee. He was a World War II Army Veteran having served with the 1165 Combat Engineer in the Pacific Theater. Retired from South Central Bell after 45 years, belonged to Telephone Pioneers, member of 1st Families of Tennessee and member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Glen enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, fishing, making fishing plugs, watching football and basketball and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Lonas & Otella Taylor. Survivors: wife of 63 years: Mary Walters Taylor; sons & daughters-in-law: David & Florence Taylor of Santa Monica, CA, Brent & Sharon Taylor of Orlando, Florida; daughter & son-in-law: Susan & Greg Helton of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren: Jason, Taylor, Robby Taylor, Kimmi Taylor and Heather Helton; brother-in-law: Herbert Walters of Solana Beach, CA; sister-in-law: Irene Walters of Clinton, TN; nieces & nephews: Carol & Harold Rose, Lynn & Johnnie Johnson, Jon & MaryAnne Walters, Pam & Steve McCarty. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 6-8PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral service following at 8:00PM. Graveside services will be Thursday, January 21st at 11:00AM at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of the arrangements.

I just found this online. I had sometime times with the Taylors going to Gatlinburg and Six Flaggs. They were wonderful people and I have wanted to catch up with them all these years.
