HOWARD B. "EASY" JARVIS

JARVIS, MR. HOWARD B. "EASY" - age 92, of Seymour, Tennessee, formally of Rockwood, passed away at the East Tennessee Veterans Home in Knoxville on Friday, March 7, 2014. Mr. Jarvis was a lifetime member of the Rockwood United Methodist Church in Rockwood, Tennessee. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran serving in Europe and Africa. He was member of the VFW of Rockwood and American Legion Post #50 of Rockwood, Tennessee. "Easy" was the oldest living member of the Rockwood Masonic Lodge #403. He was preceded in death by parents, Artie and Effie Jarvis; wife, Opal Jarvis; brothers, Richard Jarvis and Bill Jarvis; sisters, Mary Miller and Martha Long. He is survived by nephew, Jim Jarvis of Ooltewah, Tennessee; niece, Judy Edwards (Jack) of Kingsport, Tennessee; special great nephews who cared for "Easy" in his golden years, Billy Jarvis (Rebecca) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Matthew Jarvis (Carey) of Seymour, Tennessee; many other nieces, nephews and cousins; great niece, Ashley Fine of Oakdale, Tennessee; host of friends from his 92 years of life. Funeral and visitation arrangements are as follows: Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Rockwood United Methodist Church, Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Don Ferguson officiating. Interment and concluding services will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery with full military honors by the Roane County Military Memorial and the U.S. Army Honor Guards. In lieu of flowers, the fFamily wishes for donations to be made to the Honor Flight Network, 300 East Auburn Ave., Springfield, Ohio 45505. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood is directing services for the family of Mr. Howard Byron "Easy" Jarvis.
