Pastor Davis, I miss you so much. You truly left your mark in the world and on me. I haven´t found a church home since your passing. Pray God lead me to somewhere that can build on what you taught me. Though I had moved away in 2016, I loved going to church every visit. You gave me something I can´t give back but can pay forward! There will never be another you and for that reason, I will forever review my many notes involving your teachings. You TREACH!! (Teach, preach and reach). Love you and thank you for everything!

To the first lady Mrs. Jackie Davis and family of Eternal Life Harvest, to the children of Reverend James Davis and to all else who loved him, I give my deepest condolences. I recall some
years ago when my mother was hospitalized and we were told to call in the family. I found a stairwell in the hospital and was crying unconsolubly. James found me and prayed with me and reminded
me that God was in control. I will remember him for his love of God and his lifes work of letting others know it and for making a way for them to participate in it!

There is no doubt, Pastor Davis has left a legacy that many can and will continue to appreciate. May God keep his loving arms around the immediate/extended family and church family during and beyond this difficult time.

First Lady, Jackie Davis, Davis Family, and ETLHC Family. When we heard that Pastor Davis passed, our hearts sank, because We knew Him personally, growing up in the"ville". We have everyone of us a charge to keep, an external God to glorify, an immortal soul to provide for, needful duty to be done, our generation to serve; and it must be our daily care to keep this charge, for it is the charge of the Lord our Saviour, who will shortly call us account about it, and it is our utmost peril if we neglect it. Keep it "that ye die not"; it is death, Eternal death, to betray the trust that we are charged with; by the consideration of this we must be kept in awe.

Pastor Davis will be rewarded for good works done in obedience to God,
according to his power, and for his glory.
He was a workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that he would walk in them.
God had special tasks planned just for him. What he called him to do, he equipped him for, letting everything he done brought glory and honor to God.
His life in Christ was a beacon of love to a hurting world.
To the Family of Rev. Dr. James H. Davis, I send my deepest condolences during your time of bereavement.

I remember the day that Pastor Davis had been reading the word of God. It was a word that would forever change his life. Pastor Davis took the Word of God and ran with it as hard and fast as he could because he new that he had a call by God on his life to fulfill. His love and work for the community allowed him to give back to the community and many souls were saved. To Mrs. Jackie Davis and the entire Davis family just know that Pastor Davis has left the greatest roadmap there is to follow that will one day lead you back to him. Take heed to all he has said and done. You may weep but it will not always be sorrow, but JOY does come to you at the time needed most. My sincere condolence to the entir family.

I remember Pastor Davis when he first started his ministry and over the course of the years he has truly impacted the lives of many people in Knoxville and around the world. He truly made a difference in the inner city and would be one of the first churches to reach out to help people in need. I remember his church reached out to provide help during Katrina. Pastor Davis had a vision and a mission to fulfill from God. Which was evident by the work that he has done and the legacy that he is leaving behind. Gone too soon my brother, selfishly we want you to stay. God wanted you to be with him. I pray for the entire family of Pastor James Davis. Rest In Peace Pastor James Davis! You will be missed!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
