TROY A. CHEEK WHEELER, IN Troy A. Cheek, age 84, of Wheeler, IN, passed away peacefully at St. Mary Medical Center, on Friday, November 4, 2016, with loving his loving at side. Troy was born February 2, 1932 in London, KY to the late Willie and Edna (Bernard) Cheek. Also preceding him in death are his son, Patrick Cheek; brother, Jackie Cheek; sisters, Edith Profit, Ethel Smallwood, Imogene Curry, and Susie Burns. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 65 years, Jessie (Cox) Cheek; daughter-in-law, Shayne Cheek; grandson, Michael (Megan) Cheek; great granddaughter, Maggie Cheek; brothers: Kenneth Cheek, Roscoe Cheek; sisters, Brenda Cheek and Sonia Lips; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Cheek retired after forty years of service as an operating engineer. Troy was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a loving father and grandfather. After the death of his son at a young age, he immediately filled in where his son could not anymore. He helped with his grandson Michael, and relishing great grandparenthood with Maggie. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375). Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ronnie Cox officiating at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
