John Lambert Obituary
Blount County, TN
John P. Lambert, age 89, of Blount County, TN, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 28, 2016. John was a great, loyal, dear man who loved life and lived it fully – whether golfing, traveling, or spending time with family and friends. He was full of joy and always looked forward to his next adventure. He was loved by all who knew him. John retired from General Motors in 1987, and he has enjoyed a long and exciting retirement. He got his first motorcycle in his 70s and a Class A RV in his 80s. He was great fun, lived on "go," and never sat still for long. He had a wonderful sense of humor and his laughter was contagious. He will be greatly missed, but his wonderful memory will live on in the hearts of so many. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
John was preceded in death by Donna, his wife of 42 years; son, Michael Lambert; and daughter Patti Lambert. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Elsie; daughter, Cathy Conn; daughter, Regina Lambert; granddaughter, Carla Cline; grandson, Brandon Beaudry; granddaughter, Kelli Sweatman; and many great-grandchildren. His namesake and great-grandson-to-be, John Ellis Sweatman, has a planned due date this September.
A celebration of John's life will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Smith Trinity Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. and a memorial service will follow from 6:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory can be sent to Thompson Cancer Survival Center, 1915 White Ave., Knoxville, TN 37916.
