Johnny Burnard Obituary

BURNARD JOHNNY PROFFITT - 79, of Knoxville passed away August 28, 2009 from an extended illness. He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army from 1950 -1953. Later he retired from TVA as an operating engineer and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 917. He was a music lover playing a variety of instruments of blue grass mountain music. He is survived by his wife, Judy; his daughter, Terry and her husband Garry Lewis and his son, Chris and grandson Jeremy; his sisters, Effie Collins, Unieve Phillips and Bertina Proffitt; along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral service 7 PM Sunday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Loy officiating. Family and friends will meet 11 AM Monday in Webb's Creek Cemetery for graveside service and interment. The family will receive friends 4-7 PM Sunday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
