June Mitchell Obituary

MITCHELL, JUNE WILLIAMS (NANA) - age 83, born July 8,1925, passed away September 5, 2008, after a long battle from a brain meningenoma. Regardless of her condition Nana continued to spread her love to all those she touched. She always had a "little something" as she would call it, for everyone; always thinking of others' needs. In her earlier years she leaves fond memories of living in West Hills subdivision watching her family grow and picking her flowers that she so loved. In her later years while living with her daughter, she enjoyed regular gatherings of family and friends telling grand stories of days gone by. Her quick wit and humor will be sadly missed. Even though she was overcome with several medical conditions, she was a joy and pleasure to care for, never complaining, but always smiling. A special thanks to Keegan Ward for his endless visits that brought great joy to her; and to Ron Faggan and family, Courtney Julian and Jay VanSickle all of whom made her last days memorable; to Dr. Michael E. Mitchell and his nurse Rimme at Summit Medical, and to St. Mary's Hospice, all whom are angles. Nana leaves to cherish her memories, best friend and only daughter, Jeanie M. Humphrey and husband Michael Lynn Humphrey, Seymour; her son, Michael Blake Mitchell, Knoxville; her beloved sisters, Bette Manson, Virginia, Anne Oldenburg and husband Ron, Virginia; brother, Fred Williams and family; cousin, Liz Holbrook, VA; and sisters-in-law, Mary Mitchell, Bobbie Humphrey, TN; and numerous other extended family members; her greatest pride and joy, her "one and only" grandson, Michael Shane Humphrey, Seymour. Their special bond will last forever and always. It was her request that her ashes be joined with her late husband, Blake E. Mitchell, so that they may rest together in the Blue Ridge Mountains in a private ceremony. Her mission was completed though her love will shine in all those she leaves behind. Jeanie,
Although I've never met you, I feel as though I know you and want to offer you my most heartfelt sympathy at the loss of your beloved mother. I met her once or maybe twice at the home of my dear friend, Betty Mason, and loved her instantly. She was funny and very elegant, and very well loved by her sisters and brother. I was always pleased to hear from Betty that she had asked about me and my son, Zachary. May God bless you and your family. "Little Trish" Garrett
