Kenneth White Bartley

BARTLEY, KENNETH WHITE - age 83, of LaFollette, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville after a short illness. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Bartley served as a military police in the European Theater. He was also a member of LaFollette Lodge #623. He was a 38-year employee of the Kern's Bakery through the 50's and 70's and many who knew him will recall his cheerful whistling through the streets of LaFollette as he made his daily deliveries around the area. At the time of his death, Mr. Bartley was the co-owner of Kenny's Pioneer and Bartley's Self-Storage. He was a long-time member of the LaFollette United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Pauline (Polly) Bartley who died in June 2003 and earlier by his parents, two sisters, and a brother. Among his survivors are his twin children who loved him very much: son, Kenny Michael Bartley of LaFollette and daughter, Sherry Bartley Wright and husband Doug Wright of Clinton; grandchildren; Kristen Wright Heffern and husband Todd Heffern of Johnson City, TN and Kenneth Stuart Bartley; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Woodson Bartley of Lafollette and Rosalie Edwards of Escondido, California and several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. Family will receive friends 6 until 8 PM on Sunday at the LaFollette United Methodist Church with services immediately following at 8 PM. Rev. Danny Hensley will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joy Class of which Mr. Bartley was a member. Graveside services will be 10 AM on Monday at Beeler Cemetery in Speedwell, TN. Kenny and Sherry would especially like to express their gratitude to Mrs. Janet Heffern for the loving professional and personal care, support and guidance she provided to us during our Dad's last weeks and hours.
