Big fan of Kevin's, getting his about.com newsletters. Him and his talents will be missed very much. He's in gods care and will not suffer any more. May god bless.

Though I have not spoken with Kevin in several years, his love of food and delight in sharing that love with anyone willing to listen (or read) will always remain with me.
May this final journey be filled with deliciousness!

I had the pleasure of working with Kevin during the heyday of Windows software development. I enjoyed his company, learned a lot from him, and was happy to have called him a friend. I don't know if I've ever met a nicer human being.

I only saw Kevin every couple of years, at "bashes" but I treasure his friendship. He meant more than he knew.

My thoughts are with his family at this most difficult time. Kevin was a wonderful, dear person and had a profound effect on my life. He treated me to my first real southern breakfast complete with grits and country ham. I'll never forget him.

My deepest sympathy to the Weeks' family who lost 2 men so close together.
I first heard Kevin on NPR, talking about the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich using James Beard's famous bread recipe.
Kevin and I emailed a few times back and forth. A very nice, helpful guy. I was and will always be a fan.

In addition to enjoying Kevin's writings on About.com - Kevin took time to make personal recommendations recently as to where we should dine on a recent trip to Knoxville. Kevin's family is in our thoughts and prayers. The loss of Kevin and his father so close together must be especially difficult for the family.

I was so sorry to hear of Kevin's passing. Also a fellow About.com Guide, I only knew Kevin "virtually," but so enjoyed his ready wit and gift for banter. I'm so pleased that our paths crossed, and I'll always carry his memory -- and some of his fantastic recipes -- with me.

I've had the opportunity to work with Kevin on Chefsline for almost four years. He was such a fun person to work with and our many laughs over customers questions will truly be missed. He had such a great sense of humor and his laugh came from his heart. I will miss you dearly.

I met Kevin through my sisters, Lynn and Beth. The first time was when Beth really needed some cheering up and he called without even knowing it. He just knew many times when she needed a call to brighten her day.
I really enjoyed the banter he shared with me and many others on Facebook. I will miss that.
Even though I don't often cook, I found many of his recipes interesting and ones I wish to try in the future.

LIke Barb, I was a colleague of Kevin's from About.com. Unlike her, I never had the opportunity to meet him in person or hear his laugh. I should've known that his laugh would be as deep and heartfelt as his personality.
Although we only met "online," I respected Kevin enormously - partially because I could tease him and vice versa - he had a great wit and personality! He was also ALWAYS willing to step up and help a friend or colleague ... he was one of the people I thanked in the "acknowledgements" page of my forthcoming cookbook because he was happy to help me (I'm not a professional chef) with a few questions I had.
But I think what I loved most about him was the obvious love and pride he had in his family. I'll never forget how he talked about packing a picnic basket last year for his Mom, or how he was suffering so deeply at the anticipation of losing his Dad. My theory is that Kevin just decided to head out first to ready the refreshments for when his Dad got to heaven.
My condolences are with you all on your double loss. Kevin touched so very, very many people - he will long be remembered by those of us lucky enough to have known him.

I was a colleague of Kevin at About.com. In short order, we became phone buddies and then friends.
He had the most wonderful laugh that came from his toes. I'd say something irreverent just to hear it. We talked about our cats. His Bella was aloof and regal, my Stella was a roughouse Rosie, a description that he loved. One time I tried to call him Kev and he would have none of it. "KEVIN, please," was his response.
He regaled me with the most glorious travel stories, about his concerns for his mother's and father's welfare, and the pride and love he felt for his sister, brothers and nephews, one of which he considered a shorter, younger version of himself. His writing was eloquent and his food photography stunning.
I knew this was coming, but it's never easy. I miss him but I'm happy knowing he is pain free and debating the fineries of egg cooking with Auguste Escoffier or someone of his caliber. Shine on, Kevin. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Kevin was a real blessing to those of us who knew him. His intelligent, wry humor and his thoughtful insights will be sorely missed. Both my sister Lynn and I are also disabled --- every time we talked with him, it shone brightly as a positive and wonderful gift.
He is loved and will be missed.

Dear, dear Weeks family, my heart is full of love for you all, as it has been since early childhood. I am so sad that Kevin left us so soon. Most of all, I am full of happy memories. Kevin loved to sing, we would stand on the fireplace hearth, our stage, and belt out musicals for the debatable entertainment of all. My first marriage proposal came from Kev. I think we were four or five.
He was a cooking dynamo, it makes sense that he shared his passions with the world. It's a better place for him being in it. I celebrate the spirit and the life and I mourn for the distance. all love, Mary Ellen
