Sending condolences to the family of Lane Adams who spoke at a crusade where I first gave my heart to Jesus Christ at Lancaster Park in Christchurch, New Zealand in the 1970's. May God's blessing rest on all of you.

Hello. I wanted to express my sympathy to Mr Adams family. I also wanted to relate an incident that happened maybe 20-25 years ago. I attended a prayer breakfast where Mr Adams was the Keynote speaker. This was in Zion, IL where my Pastor, Robert Liechty was the chairman of this breakfast. Anyway, I can still hear him quote from Psalm 2 where among other things he admonished us to quit feeling sorry for ourselves and griping about our culture. It still rings in my ear as he spoke (seemingly right to me) "IF YOU WANT THINGS TO CHANGE, YOU CHANGE". As a relatively new Christian that was an important challange to me. So anyway thank you for sharing your husband and father those many years ago to a rather needy child of God who continues to fight the fight. God Bless and may He give you strength in the months and years ahead.

Dear Annette and Family,
We were surprised and saddened to hear of Lane's passing. I served as General Chairman for the Lake County Crusade in Waukegan, IL. in 1973 where he held his last crusade for Billy Graham.
God gave us 500 decisions over 10 days. Lane and I had great fellowship. He was an intelligent, articulate, and dynamic preacher with unusual credibility.
Lane gave me a signed copy of his book, "How come it's taking me so long to get better." I am just finishing reading it completely again. It is so helpful in our growth in Christ.
To all the Adams family we express our esteemed sorrow for your loss. May God continue to comfort all of you by His Spirit!

I have Very fond memories of Lane Adams during his time at Chapelgate. He always had time to say hello when I was with my father either Sunday mornings or during the week. We grieve with you over your loss of this Great man, but know that He is rejoicing.

We will always remember Dr. Adams when he was with us at Chapelgate. In fact, he baptized our son, Andrew in June 1989 just before he left us. We know that he is rejoicing with the Lord and that someday we will be re-united with him. Our condolences to you, Annette and your family. Keep on trusting in Jesus.
Sincerely,
The Erikson Family: Jon, Michael, Andrew, Victoria, and Elizabeth

Lane was the pastor of Second Presbyterian Church during the time I was in Junior High and High School. He very much helped me grow in my relationship with the Lord during those critical years. The Lord used his passion for God's Word to call me into full time ministry as a Bible teacher. I can only hope that I am helping my students as much as Lane helped me. He was a mighty man of God.

Dear God!
Thank you for touching our lives with Lane Adams....your faithful servant. What a wonderful teacher, pastor, friend and tennis partner he was. I bet Jim Whipple has already lined him up for a tennis match in heaven! We praise you for this man of God. Amen.
Dear Annette,
Having just arrived home from church, I can tell you that Second Presbyterian is grieving with you...those who knew Lane and those who have heard of him and the legend of love for him.
I have wonderful memories of your time in Memphis and send my deepest sympathy and love. May your robust family fill your days and heart with joy as God fills you with His love.
In Christ,

Dear Annette, Susie, T.M. and Family,
How our hearts grieve at the news of your loss! Lane was a most beloved pastor here at Chapelgate for almost four years, and is lovingly remembered still by so many of our people. To me he was a dear and treasured friend, and I was most privileged to have served as his secretary during his time here. We send you all our deepest sympathy and prayers as you undergo the sorrow of this parting. As I told the officers in my notification to them, "I can only imagine the riotous time Lane is having today in heaven though - that deep, hearty, booming laughter will be resonating all over! What a welcome Home he must have received from his Lord!" I know that was so, for he was a faithful servant indeed! You are in our hearts and prayers!
Affectionately,
Ian and Pauline

It was an honor to take care of this man in his final days. He left a lasting impression on all of those that he touched that gave us glimpses of the man that was about more than his own life. He will be missed.

Lane Adams challenged me, with his teaching, in Memphis. I was in my early 20's, very young woman, and not strong in my faith. I sat near the back of the curch. God used Lane Adams to educate, strengthen, and shape my Christian walk. I was very sad when Lane left Memphis. My sister in Knoxville kept me informed whenever there was news of Lane in that area. So, my condolences to you, his family, and my thanks to God, for using Lane Adams in my life. I feel that there must me "JOY" in heaven, at his arrival.
