LARRY WIGGINS Obituary

WIGGINS, LARRY JOE - age 67 of Loudon passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 at his home following a recent diagnosis of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Larry was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Yale Lock Company after working there for 27 years. Larry was also a lifelong member of Hensley's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and played bass in the church choir. He loved gospel bluegrass music. Preceded in death by his parents, W. J. and Violet (Williams) Wiggins; grandparents, John and Sarah Wiggins, and Albert and Mattie Williams. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Katie Watt Wiggins; his son, Wayne Wiggins of Oak Ridge; his daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Brandon Williams of Lenoir City; granddaughters, Carly and Kymbal Williams; brother and sister-in-law, Elder Charles (Ricky) and Gail Wiggins; sister, Kathy Wiggins all of Loudon; nieces, Tammy Wiggins, Brook Johnson and husband, Brandon, and Logan Veal; special aunts, Kay Felty, Bobbie Flanagan both of Lenoir City and Helen Dickerson of Murfreesboro; several other nieces, nephews and church family. The family would like to send a special thank you to our special friends and family at Hensley's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church for all their prayers, service and words of encouragement. Larry loved each of you very much and we do too. Also a special thanks to Caris Hospice and the wonderful staff of Cherokee Health Systems Lenoir City Office, who have supported our family through these rough months. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Tony Brock and Brother Troy Chambers officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 Wednesday morning and proceed to Loudon County Memorial Gardens for graveside services at 11:00 a.m. Military honors will be conferred by the Loudon Co. Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hensley's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, 1072 Foothills Road, Lenoir City, TN 37771.
