Lon Spurgeon Obituary

SPURGEON, LON BRUCE "BUD" - age 79 of Knoxville passed away October 30, 2008. He owned and operated LB Spurgeon's Greenhouses for over 60 years. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Janet Spurgeon; his children, Ellis Spurgeon, Gary and Glenda Stephens, Larry and Nyoka Helton, Gary and Lena Scoggins, Andra (deceased) and Lucy Spurgeon, and Leroy and Virginia Gaddis; grandchildren, Kevin and Debbie Spurgeon, Drs. Shawn and Carrie Stephens, Jason and Tabitha Jacklet, Jason and Brandy Helton, Josh and Cissy Helton, Chris and Jennifer Shepard, Andre and Christy Spurgeon, and Jonathan and Christy Spurgeon, James and Michelle Gaddis, Sam and Teresa Potter, and Buddy Gaddis; and approximately 20 great grandchildren. Receiving of friends will be Sunday, November 2, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Highland South Memorial Park Chapel. Funeral service will be at 12 noon Monday, November 3, 2008 at Highland South Memorial Park Chapel with Fred Jacklet officiating with entombment services to follow in Highland South Memorial Park.
