Mary Ellen Burnett Schwalb, died peacefully in her sleep at Heritage Center in Morristown on July 16,2015. Mary Ellen was born in Del Rio TN, but lived most of her adult life in Ocala, Florida. She returned to reside in Knoxville in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years Robert A. Schwalb, Jr.; parents Littleberry and Mary Byrd Browder Burnett; sisters Genevieve Berry, June Burnett and Betty Rogers Dunstan. Mary Ellen is survived by her two sons, Robert B. (Kaye) Schwalb of Morristown and Ronald T. (Sandy) Schwalb of Gallatin; grandchildren, Christy (Brian) Gair, Carrie (Shane) Hoffmeister, Heather (Bobby) Ledford of Morristown,Robert (Sarah) Schwalb of Memphis, Anna (Jeff) Woods of Jefferson City and Aubrey (Dan) Mayer of Knoxville; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and loving care givers Pansy Wallace and Jan Mayer.

The family will receive friends at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel at 6200-Kingston Pike in Knoxville on Saturday afternoon July 18th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tn.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Pat Summitt Foundation, 520 West Summit Hill Drive, Suite 1101, Knoxville, TN. 37902. or online at www.patsummitt.org. Please visit www.rosemortuary.com to leave the family condolences online.
