Nathan R. "Bobby" Owen

OWEN, NATHAN R. "BOBBY" - 70 of Mt. Washington, passed away Monday at his home. Bobby was retired from the United States Air Force, U.S. Post Office in Mt. Washington, a former Mt. Washington Volunteer Firefighter, a member of Mt. Washington Lions Club, and First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Glenda Smith Owen; his parents, Fred and Georgia Owen; brothers, Harold and Nolan "Jack" Owen; sister, Beatrice Carey. He is survived by: three daughters, Paula Boswell (Johnny) of Destin, FL, Donna Hensley of Fairborn, OH, and Teresa Fulkerson (Gary) of Mt. Washington; a son, Chris Owen (Janine) of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Ernestine Moody of Monroe, LA; seven grandchildren, John, Ryan and Jared Boswell, Jessica Fulkerson, Stacy Hensley, Baxter and Brewster; five great grandchildren, Alexis, Lily, Emma, J.R., and Brooklyn. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
