Ray Poe Obituary

POE, RAY H. - age 79 of Dandridge passed away Monday afternoon at his home. He was born January 19, 1928 the son of the late Luther and Addie Miller Poe. He was a retired employee of Bush Bros. & Co. after 47 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and World War II and was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 3380. Preceded in death by sister, Eva Mae Poe Fine; brothers, Winfred Wayne Poe and John Luther Poe. Survived by wife, Jo Carolyn Woods Poe; sons, Randy (Cindy) Poe and Mike Poe; granddaughters, Denise Poe and Jennifer Poe; sister, Bonnie Poe Thomas; brother, Paul Poe. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 246, Dandridge, TN 37725. Funeral services, Thursday, 8:00 pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Earl McCosh and Dr. Robert McCray officiating. Interment graveside services Friday, 10:00 am at Hillcrest Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday afternoon and evening, 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge. www.farrarfuneralhome.com

Jo Carolyn, Randy, and Mike: I'm so sorry for your loss. Ray was such a fine man. Seen him not too long ago at Wagon Wheel when I was with dad. We spoke for quite awhile about old gas station & fun times. Ray will be missed by many. If you need anything let me know. God bless, Connie Kerr Hinchey
