Rick Fox Obituary

Rick Lee Fox

Ooltewah, TN

Rick Lee Fox-age 66, of Ooltewah, TN passed away on December 30, 2017 at Hospice of Chattanooga after suffering many years from the complications of cardiovascular disease. He was born September 23, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Fulton High School and the Tennessee Institute of Electronics in Knoxville, TN. He was baptized at Edgemoor Baptist Church in Clinton, TN and is currently a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. He retired from the Mueller Company in Chattanooga, and was dedicated to his beloved family and friends.

Rick loved his family and was always the comedian. He especially enjoyed working on his small farm, hunting, camping, and teaching his grandchildren how to cook. In his earlier years, he coached little league baseball in Claxton and served on the board of the Claxton Optimist Club. He never met a stranger and was always involved in community events and volunteered with the Cleveland Civitan Club as much as possible, especially during the annual Special Olympics in Bradley County TN when his health allowed. He served on the board of the Mill Run Homeowners Association for several years. As his health waned, he became close to his expanded healthcare team and laughingly called his many visits his "field trips".

Preceded in death by his parents, Robert Earl and Gladys Easter Fox, grandparents Bradley and Ina Easter and Henry M. and Vayle Fox.

Survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Veronica Cook Fox; son and wife David E. and Tiffany Fox of Jeffersonville, Indiana; daughter Gena L. Everett of Ooltewah; grandchildren Scarlett Elizabeth Shell and Savannah Paige Allen of Ooltewah, Mahailey Grace Fox, Benjamin Andrew and wife Jessica of Jeffersonville, Indiana, great granddaughter, Brelynn Alexia Fox, brothers Randy A. Fox of North Carolina and Timothy R. and wife Pam Fox of Knoxville; nephews Dan Pollard and Kristopher Fox of North Carolina and Zackary Fox of Knoxville.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM, Monday, January 1, 2018, at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel in Maynardville with Reverend Greg Sharp officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 2, at the Johnson Family Cemetery in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee. Pallbearers are Drew Fox, Drew Brown, Bill Hitch, David Allen, Zac Fox, and Patrick Main. There were those times that I remember fondly and really miss. That old 50 Chevrolet and that big winged Chrysler 300 .Times never never to repeated. REST WELL MY FRIEND

Well, Rick, I only saw you a few times during the years I worked with Veronica. Nonetheless, your quick wit, grand retorts, and the great way you could humorously sum up any given situation always made me smile. So now you are on a higher plane and a whole new bunch of people are getting to enjoy your company. Hopefully they know how fortunate they are!
