Ronald Lynn "Ron" Hartsell

West Knoxville, TN

Ronald Lynn "Ron" Hartsell, age 78, of West Knoxville, a loving husband and father, son of the late Hollis and Pauline Smith Hartsell, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Specialty Select Fort Sanders. He was a longtime member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and retired from Robertshaw-Fulton after 35 years of service. Ron was a member of Cherokee Lodge #728 F & AM. He was an avid sports fan, loving Nascar, the Atlanta Braves, and the Tennessee Volunteers.

Ron is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Popejoy Hartsell, son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Maria Hartsell all of Knoxville, daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Jimmy McElhenney of Seymour, grandchildren, Sofie and Evan Hartsell, and numerous cousins.

A Masonic Service, held by Cherokee Lodge, will be at 11:30am Saturday, November 10 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church followed by a Funeral Service with Pastor Ann Robins officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hartsell, Jimmy McElhenney, Brandon and Kirk Brownlee, Mark Haley, and Dan Morse. The family request memorials be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1001 Ebenezer Road, Knoxville, TN 37923 or Remote Area Medical, 2200 Stock Creek Blvd, Rockford, TN 37853. The family will receive friends from 10am-11:30am on Saturday, November 10 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be extended at www.rosemortuary.com.
