Stephenson Ownby Obituary

OWNBY, STEPHENSON "STEVE" ROY - age 62 of Sevierville, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011. He attended Millican Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Ownby was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park Service. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved horses and spending time in the mountains hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed farming and woodworking. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Carl Ownby; infant sister, Barbara Jean Ownby; uncle, Ray Huskey and cousins, David Ownby and C.A. Ownby. Survivors include his wife Troy Lynn Ownby; daughter, Emily Denise Ownby; son, Steven Roy Ownby, II and Stephanie; grandchildren, Steven "Opie" Ownby, III, Brandon, Breanna and Brittani Hoffsis; mother, Jean Huskey; sister, Judy Lugiai; niece and nephew, Rebecca and Josh Johnson; great-nieces, Alyssa and Laney; uncle, Winfred Ownby; cousin, Stanley Huskey; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Emma and James Coile; several cousins; special family friends, John, James, Jim and Tonya Flynn, Z.D. and Virginia Flynn, April Sutton. Funeral service 1:00 PM Wednesday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. David Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Mattox Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post #104. The family will receive friends 6:00-9:00 PM Tuesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
