Steven Tallent Obituary
Maryville, TN
Steven Nelson Tallent (Seven), passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Steve was a proud United States Army Veteran, who served in Cu Chi, South Vietnam. He was a drill instructor for three years at Fort Knox, KY. He also retired from Teamsters Union 519 at Oak Ridge Y12/K25 Demolition. Steve enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting. Preceded in death by: parents, Claude R. and Mary Eliza Tallent; brothers, Robert R., Raymond Edward, Claude R. Jr., Charles M., Joseph W. Tallent; sisters, Nancy Carolyn Davis and Dorothy Ann Lawhorn; brother-in-law, A.J. Daniels. Steve is survived by: loving wife of 28 years, Shirley D. Tallent; daughter, Amanda Brooke (Matt) Rasher; son, Steven Ray Tallent; granddaughter, Alison Kendall Rasher; siblings, Janie T. Daniels, Linda G. Tallent, and David M. Tallent (Carolyn); nieces, Debbie (Kevin) Skelton, Angie K. Daniels, Scott Tallent, Whitney D. (William) Wilson, Raymond E. (Ray) Tallent, Jr., (Carol), Jeff Lawhorn (Dru), Aaron Lawhorn. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses in the CCU and also David Headrick chaplain at Blount Memorial Hospital. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to Kim Mizysak for her special care and concern during this difficult time. The family wishes to thank Jason, Dana, Patsy, Janet, and Briana for their special care as well. The family also wishes to express deep appreciation to Rev. Greg Long during this time. Family received friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, May 27, 2916 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM with Rev. Greg Long officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Grandview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Wolfenbarger, Danny Wilson, Gary van-Norstran, Jeff Lawhorn, Scott Tallent, Sonny Fagan, and Kevin Skelton. Honorary pallbearers will be David Tallent, Ray Fee, Matt Rasher, and Roy Harmon. "Seven" will surely be missed by me and all who knew him. I always enjoyed his jokes and friendship. May he rest in peace and I pray for comfort for Shirley.
