SUZANNE CALDWELL-SMITH Obituary

CALDWELL-SMITH, SUZANNE LEIGH - age 42, went to be with Jesus on April 13, 2012. She will be remembered as a sweet and wonderful lady. She was a member of Covenant Community Church. Suzanne was a teacher assistant at Belle Morris Elementary School. She was active in the PTA at Whittle Springs Middle School and Belle Morris. She was also active in the Project Grad Program. She is survived by her husband, Willis L. Smith and the light of her life, son, Will Smith; her parents, Alonzo Ronnie Caldwell and Doris Pierce Caldwell; her brothers, Ronnie (Kim), Marty (Kim) and Michael (Kristy) Caldwell; sister-in-laws, Wilma Jackson and Maria Smith and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Washington Pike United Methodist Church from 6:00pm to 7:30 pm followed by funeral service at 7:30 pm, Rev. Dave Mason officiating. Burial will be Wednesday, April 18, 2012, 11:00 am at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ronnie, Marty and Mike Caldwell, David Nix, Elvis Bundridge and Dwayne Rollins. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to the Willis L. Smith II Educational Fund at Suntrust Bank. Arrangements by Jarnigan and Sons Mortuary. www.jarnigansmortuary.com

I was principal for two years at Belle Morris when Will was in the 2nd and 3rd grades. Suzanne was a wonderful staff member, always going above and beyond to do what she could to help the students of our school. She will be greatly missed.
