Todd Overton Obituary

OVERTON, TODD DONALD - age 49 of Bethel, CT and formerly of Knoxville, TN and Vero Beach, FL passed away on April 18, 2011 after a courageous eight year battle with cancer. Todd was a fun-loving, kind, gentle giant of a man. He was a graduate of Webb School, Knoxville, TN and attended Presbyterian College, Clinton, SC. Todd was a successful personal chef and most recently the owner/contractor of New England Home Improvements, a company he established. Both professions required artistic ability, knowledge, skill, and attention to detail. Each job no matter how small or large was met with the same self-imposed level of excellence which was greatly appreciated by his clients. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Laura Del Savio, his precious son, Zachary Overton; and his stepchildren, Kate, Max, and Anna Brosnihan of Bethel, CT. He also is survived by his mother and stepfather, Dr. Betsy & Mr. Sherman Smith of Lenoir City, TN; his sister and her husband, Terri & Brent Walters and nephew Bradley Rose of Vero Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Clarence & Mrs. Roberta Hoffmann, Mr. & Mrs. James Vines, and his father Dr. Donald Overton. Services were held in Danbury, CT. Memorials may be sent to Dr. Smith to be forwarded to the family.

Betsy & Terri:
So sorry we have not kept up in years.

I have been so sad since Stan called last Monday and told me the news.

Terri had given us a phone number years ago for FL. Just recently we were there and we called that number... Of course it was not a working number.

I will always remember Todd as one of the nice young men that came and went as one of the friends. I remember all the way back to Cedar Bluff days....

Betsy, please call when you wish. My number is the same.

Much love to you and yours,
Marcy Schultz

Todd had one of the biggest hearts of anyone I've known. The world we know is a little less happy place now without his smile and laugh- but we need to take comfort in knowing he touched so many lives. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
