Virginia Hammontree Hendricks

HENDRICKS, VIRGINIA HAMMONTREE - age 85 of Alcoa passed away Monday, November 9, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville and retired from First Tennessee Bank. Preceded in death by her first husband, Harry N. Hammontree, Sr.; son, Harry N. Hammontree, Jr.; second husband, Col. Charles J. Hendricks. Survivors include her special nephew, Michael B. Wayman (Herbert Delegal) of Louisville, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Karen S. Williams (Harlan) of Louisville, Kentucky; sisters, Bertha Choate of Madisonville, Johnny Bryant of Knoxville, Nancy Maxey of Knoxville; step children, Kathy Thornton (Lowell), Melinda Brookshire (Steve), Ann Elkins (Kenny), and Kim Hendricks; many nieces, nephews, and children who referred to her as grandmother. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at their convenience after 8:00 a.m. Wednesday.
