William Sowders

Knoxville, TN

William Sowders, 80 years old passed away January 17, 2016, surrounded by his family as he went to be with the Lord. A US Army veteran. A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle that touched the lives of so many people.

Preceded in death by his parents E and Bessie Sowders; brothers Bob (Ruth) Sowders, Buster (Sue) Sowders, Mack (Geneva) Sowders; brothers in law Donald Raby, Sr. and Kenneth Key; his sister Edna (John) Axley. He leaves behind his wife of 30 years Gloria Conner and loving children Cheryl (Kevin) Thompson, Gary Sowders, Patrick (Kim) Sowders and Lisa (Gary) Hobbs; light of his life grandchildren: Kasey (Jessica) Thompson, Jesse Thompson, Lindsey (Brennan) Boling, Tyler (Samantha) Thompson, Colt Sowders, Logan Sowders, and Brooke Hobbs. His greatest blessings great grandchildren: Tommy Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Trey Thompson, Hadley Thompson, Hayden Thompson and Nova Sowders; sisters Ethel Key, Mable (Kermit) Wheat, Geneva Raby, Anne Sowders and Margaret Bidwell. He has many loving and wonderful nephews and nieces.

Receiving of friends 6:00-7:30pm Friday with service to follow at Grassy Valley Baptist Church 10637 Kingston Pike. Arrangements by East Tennessee Mortuary Service.
