PORTAGE, Ohio - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher R. Meyer, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at the age of 59.
He was born on May 17, 1965, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Phil and Sharon (Lacey) Meyer.
Chris was a graduate of Bowling Green High School and went on to work at Cooper Engineered Products before finding his long-term home at D&K Transportation. He was a permanent fixture at D&K Transport in Bowling Green since 1990. Anyone who walked through the door knew Chris and soon became a friend. He was known for being the go-to person for whatever was needed. He enjoyed working on trucks, restoring tractors, and escorting oversized loads all over the country. He was a loyal, trusted member of the D&K family.
No matter where he went, he never met a stranger. He had a generous heart, and was always willing to offer help for a friend. Lending money, buying groceries, and purchasing Christmas gifts for needy children was something Chris quietly took pride in.
He worked hard, played hard, and was always available to share a cocktail and conversation.
Chris is survived by his parents; as well as his sister, Pam, and her husband, Dr. Brian Metcalf; and a niece, Brianna.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Meyer.
A graveside service for Chris will be held at Pleasant Lake Cemetery in Indiana, on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at 11 a.m.

With sincere heart ache, it is so hard to believe Chris is gone. He was such an awesome guy always willing to talk. Going to miss you coming into HD and talking about Tacoma Tractor Pulls and anything else going on. You have been taken way to young, you were so full of life. Thoughts and Prayers to the Meyers family and the Wulff trucking.
